If you have been following me for a while, then you know I am a huge fan of making chicken wings. However, I am a little picky when it comes to buying chicken, and I prefer to get it from Whole Foods or Fresh Thyme because they sell organic, free-range chicken. But really, any chicken you like will work for this. I just like to point out that, personally, I think the higher quality chicken does make a little bit of a difference. The sauce is incredibly simple—just 3 ingredients that are staples in my pantry—and it’s the perfect combination of salty and sweet. These wings are perfect for a fall dinner or the upcoming football season as a game day snack. Either way, I hope you guys try them! If you have any questions, leave them in the comments! :)

maple mustard chicken wings
serves : 3-4
prep time : 5 minutes
cook time : about 1 hour
total time : 1 hour 5 minutes
ingredients
1.5 pounds chicken wings, split
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoon dijon mustard
1 tablespoon maple syrup
1/2 tablespoon coconut aminos
instructions
Preheat your oven to 425°F.
In a large bowl, toss the chicken wings with the olive oil, baking powder, and garlic salt.
Arrange the wings in a single layer, with the thick side of the skin facing upward on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
After 30 minutes, carefully flip the wings over using tongs. Continue baking for another 25 minutes or until both sides are fully browned.
After about 25 minutes, flip the wings once more and bake for an additional 5 minutes or until each side is crispy.
While the wings are finishing up, mix together the Dijon mustard, maple syrup, and coconut aminos in a small bowl until well combined.
Once the wings are done baking, remove them from the oven and let rest for at least 1 minute.
Transfer to a large bowl and pour the maple mustard sauce over the wings. Toss them until they are evenly coated and serve!
TIPS / SUBSTITUTES
Let chicken wings sit for a few minutes before tossing in the sauce so the skin stays crispy.
Can substitute coconut aminos for soy sauce.
Be sure to line baking sheet with parchment paper to avoid sticking.
Reheat in the oven at 350º until warmed through, about 12-15 minutes.
Can make this recipe in smaller portions in the air fryer.
